Community Capacity Assessment Tool

Understanding your community is essential before planning for action. The Community Capacity Assessment Tool (CCAT) provides a closer look at your community thereby increasing your understanding of the local context. Community capacity is the combined influence of resources and skills that can be leveraged to build on strengths and opportunities. Capacity is more than ‘things’ and money; it is about developing relationships, partners, and new abilities.

The CCAT explores 11 domains related to community work and can provide a snapshot of where the community is at. Each domain contains sets of questions that assist the community to reflect on their strengths, assets, and opportunities for improvement.
