Make changes to land use and community design
How to implement
- Create healthier communities through changes to land use and community design.
- For example, construct and maintain community paths to increase walkability, build shade structures or plant trees to increase ultraviolet (UV) protection, and increase access to healthy foods through corner stores and pop-up markets.

Example in action: In 2016, community volunteers in the tri-area of Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Parkland County worked with the City of Spruce Grove to organize bike corrals at local public markets to encourage families to ride their bikes.
