Communities in Action: "Make Play Better for Everyone"

Categories: Community engagement, Social connectedness, Physical activity, Inclusion, Community,

Building spaces that support inclusivity and diversity often mean bringing innovative minds together. One dad is on a mission to build better playgrounds that “make play better for everyone”.

Inspired by his young daughter, Cody took on the challenge to design and build play spaces for all community members, ensuring that the projects were inclusive of all abilities. Creating design principles that are “radically inclusive” relies on these cornerstone values: ensuring play areas are physically inviting (ie. wheelchair friendly), socially inviting (ie. communal gathering spaces), and emotional inviting (ie. including art and music).

Watch how this dad helps transform playgrounds into a welcoming, inclusive environment that all communities can enjoy.
