Community Stories:
Central Peace - Passport to Play
May 05, 2021
Central Peace Health and Wellness Coalition's (CPHAWC) goal is to empower the community to build on existing strengths by creating environments that support good health. For Canada’s 150 birthday, CPHAWC created a fun “passport to play” to engage families in healthy activities throughout the area.
The Plan
150 things to do in the Central Peace area were identified and split into 4 different categories. Families were encouraged to get active, be sun-safe, eat healthy, and show their community spirit.
The Outcomes
The passport served as an useful guide and introduction to all that Central Peace has to offer. It also was used as an engagement tool for families to get out in their communities. Passports were handed out throughout the region at various events and were used as part of a welcome package to newcomers to the community. Families enjoyed exploring their communities throughout the seasons.
