The Central Peace Health and Wellness Coalition expanded its sidewalk stencil initiative to street walkways throughout the community.
The Plan
Various stencils in bright colors were painted by community volunteers at key street crossings by schools and on main street.
The Outcomes
The bright colors and decorative patterns created awareness of key walkways and added a fun element to the street. Community members commented that the images brought smiles and enhanced feelings of wellbeing. As the images on the road faded from traffic and weather, the group plans to repaint again next season and will concentrate on the sidewalk and street shoulders.
