Mirror- Communities in Action

Mirror is a small hamlet in Alberta with a very active volunteer base that supports many services and clubs in the area. In 2015, Volunteers got together to discuss how can they work together better, and so, the Mirror Community Network was born.

The goal of the Network is to manage volunteer resources to plan and implement activities such as Mirror Days and the annual parade. The success of the first collaboratively planned event sparked interest to identify future community projects. A wish list was developed and priorities were identified. In 2015, with the support of a healthy communities grant from Alberta Health Services, planning for a gathering space began. The new community park took 2 years to complete and a special celebration took place to mark this day. Watch the following digital story here.
